Walking Tour Group
Our local walking tour group started on Thursday 25th April and visited the Cuningar Loop. Next, we popped into Greenheart Growers to have a tour of their growing project (and get somgreat tips on planting and growing at home). Plus, we got to sample some of their delicious micro-greens! Last week, the walking group ventured to the People’s Palace at Glasgow Green to receive a guided tour of the museum which was absolutely fantastic!
The walking group meets every Thursday at 1pm, at the Legacy Hub in Dalmarnock for walking, chats and visits to local places of interest. All ages & abilities welcome!
Celebrating what’s on your doorstep
On 27th April, Thriving Places held an event at the Parkhead Forge, along with many local partners, to celebrate the various resources, organisations and groups that exist locally, as well as presenting the findings from the community consultation. The community engaged through activities at the various stalls and many took part in the games and prize draws. This event was facilitated alongside
- Glasgow Kelvin College
- Urban Fox
- Men’s Shed
- Glasgow Life
- Glasgow Science Centre
STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths)
During the school Spring Break, Thriving Places & the West of Scotland Housing Association held many events for local families in Barrowfield, including x3 STEM events. This was done in partnership with Glasgow Science Centre, YOMO, Glasgow Kelvin College and Glasgow Life. The events were very popular and so we hope to do as much STEM activities as we can, moving forward. Keep an eye out for updates!
